Nevünk, SUP NS 1255 szoros kapcsolatunkat szimbolizálja Újvidék városával (NS) és a Duna lenyűgöző hosszát is tartalmazza. Ugyanis a Duna Újvidéktől egészen a Fekete-tengerbe való beömléséig - pontosan 1255 kilométer hosszú.
